BIOGRAPHY

Born in the heartland of Georgia, Quahnkatiere Marshall is the 2nd of 3 sons from loving parents Willard and Celessie Marshall. Raised in Fort Valley, Georgia, Quahn began his musical career taking piano lessons at the age of 6. He quickly excelled as one of William Moultrie's prized pupils and began to garner an intrinsic passion for all types of music. After graduating amongst the top of his high school class, Quahn received his BA in Music Education, Choral & Piano, from Claflin University, Summa Cum Laude. There, under the tutelage of Dr. Isaiah McGee, Quahn sang and accompanied for the nationally renowned Claflin University Concert Choir. While playing for the University's Jazz ensemble, he would discover a drive for jazz, pushing his studies to Florida State University. There, he would graduate with a Master of Music in Jazz Studies, Piano Performance, under the tutelage of Bill Peterson. 

 

Quahn would become the Director of Choral Music   for Peach County High School in 2011, and constructed one of middle GA’s top high school choirs. His groups consistently received the state's highest honors while attempting to push the boundaries for choral music. As a highly skilled and accomplished pianist and keyboardist, Quahn's musical experience is boundless. He has played for an endless number of musical groups across all genres, ranging from gospel to alternative rock. Notable accomplishments include opening for Byron Cage, Lee Greenwood, and sharing the stage with George Clinton. He has taken numerous educational responsibilities, including clinician for jazz festivals and directing summer music camp ensembles. While no longer directing the Peach County High School Choir, Quahn has been the keyboardist for several different bands including cooperate groups booked by East Coast Entertainment, the largest full service entertainment agency in the country (USA). He would add international education to his resume in 2016, after teaching and residing in Doha, Qatar, as the upper level music teacher for the prestigious Qatar Foundation's Qatar Academy Al Wakra until 2019. Next, Quahn and his family would reside in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, as the Choir Director for Saudi Aramco Expatriate School's Dhahran School, the largest oil company in the world. He would faithfully direct the choir until 2024, also being selected to conduct the AMIS African Regional  Honor Choir in Johannesburg, South Africa in January of 2024. Currently, Quahn resides in Columbia, SC, as the choir director for Lower Richland High School. He also provides music production, composition and session work for all genres and artists. When not encompassed by the demands of the music world, Quahn enjoys traveling, playing video games, and spending time with his beloved wife, Britney, and their daughter, Quinn.
